He's the Man of my Dreams!

So, I have to brag on my husband a little bit. First of all, he works very hard to provide for us which means he is gone from home for 24-48 hours at a time. His shifts at the fire department are for 24 hours and if he works an ambulance shift after that it's another 24 hours. So, the days he's off and home are precious to us! Well, Josh was working on Monday, but he had Tuesday off. He called me and told me he was going to pick Hudson up from school on Tuesday and take him to the circus. I love that this was his idea! At first I wanted to go with them, but then I thought it would be good daddy/Hudson time! So, I let them go, and they had such a good time.

I'm just going to tell you that I am so lucky to have found a friend to spend the rest of my life with! It makes me so happy to think that when he has a day off he WANTS to spend it with Hudson and me. I'm so lucky he's my husband, and Hudson is so lucky to have him as a daddy.

Here are pictures from their trip to the circus. It's just the two of them there though, so Josh didn't make it IN any of the pictures!

Hudson came home and told me "the bears played basketball!" I'm so glad they got to have a night of fun...just the two of them!

It's official...

He's big.

So, his big boy room is almost complete. We are still lacking the big boy Fire Truck Bedding. We started with his mattress on the floor for a few months so it wouldn't be so far to fall should he roll out. We have now put it up on the frame, and even though he hasn't rolled out in a very long time, I put pool noodles under his sheets to serve as bumpers. :-) That's my big guy all asleep in his big bed! He looks so small in a full size bed. He is now going to sleep every night without crying and without getting out of bed and without us laying down with him!!!! As long as we leave the light on, he goes right to sleep.

And here is a video I have been wanting to get for a long time! I wanted to capture his little voice at this age to have forever. We have the book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, but we also have the endangered species version, Panda Bear, Panda Bear What Do You See? Hudson knows this book by heart...watch my sweet little angel read to me.

Breakthrough!

We've hit a big milestone here...

So, Wednesday night we decided we were no longer going to lay down with Hudson every night to get him to go to sleep. So, we decided to use Supernanny's approach. Taking him back to bed each time he gets out of bed. So, we did it that night, and our iron willed son lasted an hour and ten minutes before he crashed! Then, Thursday night we did it again. It took 40 minutes that night. Then, I did it by myself on Friday night, and it took around 30 minutes. So, last night as I was walking him back to bed, he said he wanted the light on. So, as I walked by I flipped it on. He then let me tuck him in, he quit crying, and he stayed in bed. Ten minutes later I went in to check on him and he was out...so I turned the light off. Tonight, I left the light on again for him, and again no tears and he hasn't gotten out of bed once! Just checked on him, and he's asleep!!!

WAY TO GO LITTLE BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!

(kind of makes me sad that he's turning into such a big boy!)

He's still not sleeping all night in his bed consistently, but we're making progress!

Easter

So, these pictures start on Sunday and go backwards. :-) Hudson had a great Easter! He managed a total of 7 egg hunts! We didn't plan on this. He had one at school, then moved to another class and had one with that class too. We spontaneously went to storytime last Wednesday and they had one that morning as well. We then did three on the Saturday before Easter, and one at Grandmama's house on Easter Sunday! Hudson had fun at all of them this year! He really enjoyed the helicopter that dropped eggs from the sky. I'm going to try to post the video from that. It's a little hard to see, but it was so cool! (It's at the bottom).
We had a wonderful Easter, and I love sharing with Hudson the meanings of holidays! I hope he got from this holiday a glimpse of how much God loves him...that's what I tried to emphasize! It's still amazing to think of Jesus rising from the dead! We "hear" it so much during "church talk" but how UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Amazing! Enjoy the pictures.
Easter morning...egg hunt at Grandmama's house.

So excited the Easter bunny came!

He brought him play food. :-) He loves playing with it.

Going down the slide with daddy at Burnt Hickory.

Hudson & Maddox with 'Ma & 'Pa.

Grandmama & Hudson.

Hudson & me at White Oak Park.

I love that face!

Ready to watch the helicopter drop!

Ready for the Easter egg hunt at school.

Videos from the day...the helicopter drop (watch closely for the eggs falling or listen for the crown cheering that's when they fall), the train ride and inflatable slide at Burnt Hickory.

loved this

Found this on a few blogs and I thought it was so cute. I am going to make one for Hudson's scrapbook. I tried to write about all the things that are important to him and us at this point in his life. Try one at wordel.

Coolest Kid EVER!!!!

This is my 2 1/2 year old son chowing down on sushi! He LOVES it! We ordered two rolls between my mom, Hudson, and me and due to his big appetite for sushi, we had to order 2 more rolls! He couldn't shove them in fast enough. He'd have half the piece hanging out of his mouth til he could make room for the rest of it. When the dust settled, I had one full, sleepy kid with eel sauce all over his face. :-)

Happy Friday!

Today was amazing! Hudson did not cry at all except for 5 seconds when I dropped him off...AND...he took a nap!!! Josh is rewarding him with a trip to jump zone tomorrow!
