After staying home with Hudson for 2 1/2 years, I am going back to work.
I honestly never thought I would be ready for this...but I am, mainly because Hudson is SO ready! I told Josh I wanted to stay home at least the first year, and that turned into 2 1/2 years. However, over the last 5 months or so Hudson has really shown me that he is ready for preschool. I know that he has benefitted greatly from his time home with me, but on days that I have errands to run or it's too cold he misses out on activities like art projects and outside play. That won't be the case at school.
So, about 2 weeks ago I applied at the YMCA in Hiram. It is, by far, THE best child care facility I've ever been to (and I've worked at several and visited even more). I was so excited about the prospect of working there and Hudson going to preschool there.
On Friday, I got the official word that they wanted to hire me. They want me to teach Pre-K in the fall (they have 4 Pre-K classes now and are applying for 2 more). She had an opening for a teacher in the infant room right now 1:00PM-6:30PM. I'm very excited about getting my foot in the door. Josh and I gathered applications for Pre-K positions a couple of months ago, and I told him then, "I want to work at the YMCA."
So, the stipulation with me going back to work was that I would teach Pre-K again as I did in Eastman, so that I would at least be in the same building as Hudson. If he were to get sick or hurt, I am right down the hall. Wimpy of me...I know...but man oh man how I love that kid!
I will also say that what they say about the terrible two's has kicked into gear. We get sass, we get ignored, and we get attitude...so a break each day will be a good thing...for both of us. :-)

Those sound like exciting changes for your whole family, Chelsea! How fortunate you were to be able to stay home with Hudson for the first few years...I am looking the end of my maternity leave straight in the face. Would give anything to stay home like that for a while. Your back to work situation sounds perfect! CONGRATS!
This is such a great experience for both of you! I'm very happy for you and know he'll love it. I am already experiencing the terrible twos with tantrums and Owen's not 2 yet. Yikes!
awesome!
