Disney World 2011

We are celebrating Kendan's 1st birthday at Walt Disney World. We are so excited about our trip, and have several exciting activities planned including a character breakfast and a pirate adventure for Hudson.

I wanted to have matching shirts for our trip, but I couldn't find cute ones that were available in all our sizes. So, tie dye Mickey Mouse shirts were made. I was so excited that they turned out!!! The hard part; however, will be getting Dylan to wear his. :-)

Merry Christmas!!!!

Whew...25 days of blogging will tire you, so I am a little late posting these Christmas pictures. Santa was good to us all. Hudson got a batcave and a nintendo ds. Kendan got a Scout, a bounce and spin zebra, and a mickey suitcase. How did Santa know we needed a suitcase for Kendan for our Disney trip in 33 days!?! :-) Santa also left a beautiful Christmas train around our tree this year. Hudson saw it and said, "it's JUST like the Polar Express."

Kendan spent most of the morning watching the train or his big brother. He did have fun with all his new toys.
Joshua got a new waffle iron (which he used for breakfast that morning) and he got 2 tickets to go see Monster Truck Jam with Hudson in January. I got a gym membership, new running shoes, and The Case for Christ Study Bible, which I love!!! Then we were all spoiled by the grandparents.

Around mid morning it started snowing...hard. It was a beautiful backdrop all day. We ate, played, and stayed in our pajamas all day. It was a perfect Christmas.

Funny Guy

Kendan kept crawling over the same place where the sun was coming in on the floor. He had this puzzled look on his face as he watched his shadow disappear.

Today we read the Christmas story out of Luke 2. We are so excited about Christmas this year. It is Krndan's first Christmas, and we are so thankful for the joy he brings to our family! Hudson is at a great age for Christmas! He understands the real meaning behind why we celebrate Christmas, and he has such a kind heart! He brings such humor and fun to our family!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Today our advent activity was to make cookies for Santa. It was an icing and sprinkles hurricane, but it was fun! I remember making these yummy cookies with my mom growing up. It is fun to share that tradition with my children.

Yesterday our activity was to read "The Night Before Christmas," but to be completely honest, we forgot. So, we read it first thing this morning.

Today we made a birthday cake for Jesus. I wrote Jesus in the icing and then Hudson filled it in with m&m's. He decorated the rest of it as well. We can't wait to celebrate Jesus' birthday!!!!

6 Days Til...

Today our activity was to take gifts to the people at church: the ladies that run the BHBC preschool ministry and Sunday School teachers. We took notecards, oatmeal raisin cookies, and thank you notes as our way of saying "thank you" to the wonderful people that serve at our church. I have said it before, but we are extremely blessed to attend Burnt Hickory. The sweet people that serve there and take care of my boys are so very special to me! Picture is of Hudson and Ms. Cindy.

7 Days Til...

Today's activity was to sing a Christmas carol. Hudson picked "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" so I have included the lyrics (in case you have forgotten them.) :-)

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer : Lyrics

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Then all the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history.

Today our activity (after a little tweaking) said to go to a Christmas party. Lucky for us we had two scheduled for today, hence the tweaking. I couldn't fit anything else in today. We had Hudson's school Christmas party today at 11:30 AM. Tonight we have our church preschool ministry Christmas party. I plan to enjoy that sans camera, so here are pictures and a video from Hudson's school party.

Hudson's class singing "Rudolph" is first, then my boys, then Hudson and his friend, Matthew cheers'ing their cupcake cones, and last are pictures of the banner and placemat Hudson made for Christmas. I love them!!!!

The boys wore their Christmas shirts they made today. So, right before bath time we snapped a picture.

Today our advent activity was to go see Christmas lights. We had such a nice time. Hudson was snapping pictures with his phone (an old one of Josh's), and Kendan was smiling at all the pretty lights and then telling them "bye-bye." It was a fun drive.

Today our activity was to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas." So we waited until Kendan went down for his nap, and Hudson and I watched it together. We love Charlie Brown!!! And I cannot believe it is only 10 days until Christmas.

Today our activity was to color a Christmas picture. I took a picture of Hudson coloring his, but it has disappeared from my phone. So, here are the finished products. I am not sure if it is a gender thing, but Hudson does not love coloring. I LOVE to color and always have. Any moms of both a boy and a girl have any insight???

12 Days Til...

Today our activity was to sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. Not His birthday yet, but we discussed why we celebrate Christmas and so we talked about it being Jesus' birthday. We will sing it again, today was just for the practice and the discussion.
I am so thankful to have a church home that teaches my children about God and Jesus and that demonstrates that love to my boys.

Today we did a Christmas craft. :-) So Hudson made this ornament. Next year I will try to spread out the crafts since we made and then decorated ornaments yesterday. :-) Good thing I have random crafting activities in my scrapbook room. I love doing these things with my boy! And I love that we are doing activities together as we count down to Christmas instead of "getting getting getting."

And the decorating has begun. Hudson opted for paint instead of glitter glue. His ornaments are very cute, and the ones from years past are hanging on our tree.
