Move-In Day
We are fast approaching move in day! We have put in so much time, sweat, and hard work already, and now it's finally time to move in. Mom and I with the help Dylan, Cat, and Liz have painted almost the entire house. The flooring has been laid, and we are moving in on Friday!!!! Yay! We have new hardwood floors in the foyer, dining room, and family room. We have new carpet in Hudson's playroom and the entire upstairs. We are so excited! We still have to paint the kitchen and bathrooms, but Josh is going to lay tile in those rooms, so we were not as rushed to get that done before move in day. Now, I'm just not looking forward to packing again! But I am ready to have all my furniture and stuff back. You can visit us anytime, and check back soon for new pictures of the updates in the house! xoxo

House update
Mom and I stopped in Home Depot one day for something totally unrelated and saw that they had tile on sale for 68 cents a square foot. I decided to go back a day or two later and get some for our new kitchen. It has an ugly floor in it now, and Josh knows how to lay tile. I bought more than we needed, and soon realized I might be able to get the 1/2 bath and maybe the upstairs bath tiled as well with what I had bought. Josh then tells me about a Home Depot Clearance store in Austell. So, mom and I drive out there. They have the SAME EXACT tile I just bought for 39 cents a square foot!!! So, we got enough to tile the kitchen, 1/2 bath, upstairs bath, and master bathroom for LESS than I had spent originally!!! So, we took the tile from the regular Home Depot back and got our money back. Yay! I love a good deal.
This same Clearance store also had lighting fixtures. I had decided to save money and just spraypaint the light in the dining room and maybe add a few beads to dress it up. Well...this clearance store had a chandelier that had originally sold for $299.99 on sale for $29.99!!!! Yes, for $30 dollars (after tax) I got a $300 chandelier! I'm pretty sure I'm going to go back and get another one for the foyer too!
Mom and I also made a trip to Dalton to price flooring. We had a carpet allowance that has already been agreed upon in our contract. So, we were trying to find some really good sales on carpet and hardwoods. We wanted to lay hardwood floors in the dining room and family room, and then lay carpet in the formal living room (Hudson's playroom) and the entire upstairs. We found a guy that gave us a quote, and after a little negotiating got us $300 under budget with installation included! He was great! Not only am I getting the hardwood floors in the dining room and family room, but we are re-doing the wood floor in the foyer so it all will match. If you need a good deal on flooring you should go to Dalton Wholesale Floors and ask for Jason! Things are coming along nicely!

Play Date
We went to Riley's house to play today. Hudson loves playing with Riley. Today, however, he was hungry and tired so everything hurt his feelings. It became apparent today that he has not had to "share" yet, so he's a little new at that game. We ate lunch after we left, and he conked out on the way home. He gets emotional when he's tired and/or hungry.

SNOW!!!
It has snowed here a couple of times over the last month. We had so much fun playing in the snow. We had a snowball fight, which Hudson thought was so funny. Josh and Hudson built a snowman. I think Josh really had as much fun as Hudson, but Hudson did not want to come inside. He kept saying "So" for snow. The next day when it had mostly all melted, he kept saying "Bye Bye So." He also says "Brrrhhh" when I tell him it's too cold. Which I have to say a lot because he asks (almost everyday) to wear his crocs, so when I say no...he says "brrhhh" because I have said so many times "it's too cold to wear your crocs." He's such a funny kid.
Hudson and I take a picture with the snowman Josh built.
New house pictures
The pictures below are of our soon to be new house. I am still learning how this blog works so I posted the pictures above my blog on accident. So....scroll down to read about our new house.
New House
Well, I thought I would give this a try instead of telling everyone the same stories over and over. So, we are in the process of buying a house in Paulding County, and we are so excited. We have a lot we want to do to the house before we move in though including: painting everything, laying tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, laying hardwood floors in the family room and dining room, and putting new carpet in the playroom and the entire upstairs. We are scheduled to close on Feb. 15th, but it looks like we will actually close a little bit before then. We would LOVE any help with painting...so if you're available, we'll put a paintbrush in your hand.
Josh and I worked at the house a little bit yesterday. I stripped the wallpaper in the kitchen while he installed thermostats and tacked carpet down (so it will pass inspection). We are very ready to start working on it full force. Here are some pictures of the house as it is now. I will post "after" pictures when we are done.
