What to do????

Here's what's going to happen: Hudson's Kindergarten teacher is going to call me and tell me he's been suspended for 10 days for terroristic threats.

Now let me explain. There is a book by Mercer Mayber called There's a Nightmare in my Closet, and Huson and I read it all the time. Now, Hudson is quoting the part where the little boys tells the Nightmare..."Go Away Nightmare, or I'll Shoot You." Then he shoots him anyway...with a cork gun. And then the Nightmare begins to cry. The little boy ends up tucking the Nightmare into bed so he will stop crying. I love that Hudson is quoting literature...but it sounds rather funny when he tells our dog..."Go Away Zoe, or I'll Shoot You."

New Pictures

Here are some random pictures we have taken over the last month. We have been pretty low-key, but we are quickly gearing up for Hudson's 2nd birthday. We are doing a carnival complete with moonwalk, pony rides, face paint, games, sand art, cotton candy, and sno-cones! So fun!!! Amanda and Owen met Hudson and me at Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. So good to see her, and Owen is PRECIOUS!
I thought this was a cool shot of Josh and Hudson on the lawn mower. Artsy huh?

I'm such a DORK

I feel like such a scardy cat. Tonight Hudson and I went to dinner with my mom, and did not get home until after 8 PM. Josh is working at the fire department tonight. So, after we got home, we spent some time outside watering our flowers (not sure if we're allowed but we do). So it was getting dark when we came inside. I then got Hudson some juice and did a few things around the house. I let Zoe outside to go potty before coming upstairs to give Hudson a bath and get him ready for bed. I finished all that, got Hudson asleep, and I read in bed for a LONG time. Zoe began whining, and I figured I'd let her out one more time before going to bed myself. Only, when I turned the porch light on I saw a bag with something in it (though I couldn't tell what) on my porch! This was not there earlier or I would have seen it. It was right in front of the door. This terrifies me because the person that put it there came after dark and came all the way up my stairs and onto my porch!!! So, I call Josh (and wake him up) and ask him where the gun is. We are very careful with the gun as Hudson is so small, but I knew we'd just gotten back from vacation and didn't know if he'd put it back in its spot yet. He told me he had it with him in his truck. UGH! You see, when you open my front door you cannot see the entire porch because it runs the whole length of my house. So you have to actually go outside to see the whole thing. Well, without the gun I was NOT checking out the contents of this bag as I knew the boogy man was waiting for me on one side or the other. So, Josh tells me to call the police and ask them to send an officer. Luckily, the only one that came happened to be Josh's fire leiutenant because it turned out that all the bag had in it was my PHONE BOOKS! Do not worry though...I have already gotten the number to find out WHO delivers to my house, and come Monday morning they are going to get an earful about delivering something onto my porch after dark!

As a side note, when I dialed 911 on my cell phone it made a loud ring, but my phone was on silent. Then after I hung up, I opened my contacts page and it made the same ring like it was leaving the emergency setting. All I could think about was that it was a good thing I was not trying to dial this without some kidnapper hearing me! Anyone know how to turn that ring off? That's a strange setting to me.

I know...I know...I have an overactive imagination. I'm not sure how to help it though. I do try to really trust that God is in control of every situation. I know that there is nothing that will ever separate me from His love. I know that His word says not to be anxious about anything. I know that He has a plan for me. I know all of these truths...but I still feel the fear when something like tonight happens. And now, I'm left feeling kinda silly. And the 911 dispatcher asked me if I saw any white powder around the bag. "No Ma'am, turns out it's just my new phone books."

Beach Vacation 2008

BEACH TRIP 2008: Pensacola Beach & Panama City Beach

June 30th - July 5th

We just got back from our vacation to the beach. We started our trip in Pensacola where we visited my grandparents and played at the beach. Then a few days later we headed over to Panama City where we stayed with one of my best friends, Haley. She and her soon-to-be husband, Ret, took us around to do lots of cool things. We played at the beach, but the seaweed was thick so we spent a lot of time at their pool. They took us to feed some ducks, and they took us to this marsh FULL of fiddler crabs. We then watched the fireworks on the 4th of July. We had a great time, and we didn't want to come back home. Enjoy the show from our wonderful beach vacation!!!
